The Adult Learning Center is a school for people looking to earn their GED or High School Equivalency Diploma. Our students come to the ALC seeking to improve their lives. They may have been shut out of better-paying work opportunities, denied promotions at their current jobs, or they may simply want more confidence in their ability to support. The Adult Learning Center and satellite sites are open to serve the public who need basic education and secondary education services. Contact each center for specific office hours, registration protocol, services, classes and GED testing schedules as this varies with each Center.
Clinic COVID Update: The Adult Learning Evaluation Center will again be offering services via Telehealth for the semester. We will be providing ADHD evaluations and coaching. We may be resuming learning disability and autism evaluations soon and have a waitlist for these services. Please review our website or call for more information. The Adult Learning Center is an active member and co-convener of the Community Partnership for Adult Education. This partnership is a coalition of educators, service providers, employers, and others working together to provide quality services to adults in need of basic education.
The Center for Adult and Returning Students (CARS) is a resource for prospective and enrolled adult students and faculty and staff at the University. We are a one-stop shop to help prospective students think about their education and career paths and to assist enrolled students, particularly with Prior Learning Assessment. Classes for everything from Art to Yoga to Welding! The Lifelong Learning Center offers over classes in the Missoula area. The Center for Adult Education has a variety of programs available to help students improve their basic skills and transition to college or a career. Programs offered include High School Equivalency (GED) preparation, Community ESL, and bridge programs into Healthcare, IT, Business, and Early Childhood Education certificate programs.
