Marianhill’s Adult Day Program provides older adults living in Pembroke, Petawawa, Barry’s Bay, Pikwakanagan and surrounding communities with a variety of structured social, recreational, spiritual and physical activities. Adult day programs provide a coordinated program of services for seniors and cognitively impaired adults in a community-based group setting. These types of services are available to adults who need assistance or supervision in a safe .
Adult day programs (ADP) provide part-day supervised activities in a group setting for dependent adults, such as the frail elderly, people with Alzheimers disease, or people with disabilities. Services may include leisure activities, meals, and personal care. Adult Day Health Care provides care and companionship for seniors who need assistance in a supervised setting during the day. The program offers relief to family members or caregivers and allows them the freedom to go to work or handle personal business while knowing their relative is well cared for and safe.
What to Expect at the Adult Day Program You can expect to enjoy a friendly, safe and relaxed atmosphere. Register for 1 day up to 5 days a week (pending suitability/availability), with flexible arrival and departure times to suit your schedule. Adult Day Programs provide a wonderful opportunity for seniors living in the community to have “a day out”, participate in social programming and connect with peers. They are offered in three City of Toronto operated long-term care homes.
